Foster Carer Assessments

What to expect

A thorough assessment, done by one of our assessors who uphold the core values of the Foundation. We will be courteous and model litigants. We will focus on family cohesion, assessing personality, and unpacking trauma. Additionally, we will examine life story on a basic level for all assessments. For more thorough understanding, this can be requested at the time of booking.

How we're different

Our assessments are crafted with the reader and useability in mind. We've had experience as practitioners within the sector, and as such, our assessments reflect our combined learning. We understand greatly, that any assessment is only as good as its clarity and recommendations.

How can our work be used

Our assessments may be utilised to assist an Agency in authorising a foster carer, or perspective guardian. They're fine to go before both Tribunal and Court within the State of NSW, and we appreciate if this could be made clear at the time of commission, however expect that sometimes this is an unforeseen consequence of this type of work. For that reason, our assessments are always done to the highest standard.

What timeframes can we expect

That depends on the complexities and we remind all our clients that we're often dictated to by the availability and timeframes of others (such as family). We endeavour to get all assessments finished within 6 weeks from commission.

How will it look

We'll supply a PDF version of our assessment that has many useful headings and a flow that's designed to be easy to understand. Our sections are not lengthy, as we prioritise meaning and clarity over verbatim and lengthy narratives.
